The UTIA web environment utilizes caching to provide visitors to our websites with faster load times while decreasing overall server load. One of the challenges with caching is that updates to pages may not always show immediately. The cache for UTIA’s web environment clears every 30 to 45 minutes.
When making updates to your website and you want to verify those updates can be seen by visitors to your website, use the guidance below to make sure you are using a clean browser window which will show you the latest version of the webpage.
Clean Web Browser
A best practice for all content managers is to have multiple web browsers on their devices to use when testing websites. One browser that is your primary browser for making updates to your website. A second, and maybe third, that you can clear the cache, browsing history, etc. to make sure it is pulling the latest version of a website.

Incognito or Private Browser Window
Another option is to use an incognito or private browser window. This browser window will clear the browser cache, browsing history, etc. so that you can view the latest version of a webpage.
